When Plans Fall Through

I think it's a coping technique when we embark on something new and aren't sure how it will turn out, we make plans.

Stop and Address the Pain

Right now is the time to just live in it. Live in the chaos. Embrace the BIG feelings that accompany big decisions. Nobody expects you to keep it together all the time. Be ok with the place you are at rather than rushing to the end result.

One Year Later

It has been one year since I started this blog and everything has changed.

One Month Into the Build

The blog hasn't been getting much of my attention lately. Not for lack of things to write about, actually the opposite. There's so much going on I don't know where to start.

Tiny House: The Budget

The budget for our tiny house is $31,000. We might end up being over in some categories and under in others, but our goal is to complete the build for $31,000 or less by October 15th.

Change in Plans

Dave Ramsey talks about the basic 5 that you need to cover in your budget before anything else: food, clothing, shelter, transportation and utilities. We were so excited about being debt free that we talked about paying off the student loans with the funds from selling the big house before funding the tiny house project.

Tiny House: Why not an RV?

If I had a nickel for every time someone has asked us "why not just get a camper/RV/mobile home/park model/double wide?" I think we would be done funding the tiny house project.

Tiny House: Are you a Hippie?

Absolutely not. In fact, I should apologize to anyone I've ever accused of being a hippie because I'm about to embrace everything from recycled water to a composting toilet.
